The universe is described by a Friedmann-Lemaître cosmology in which the dimensionless cosmological constant parameter (Omega_v) is greater than the observed component of the dimensionless mass density (Omega) to within the accepted uncertainties of both quantities.
Further information on the cosmological constant is available via WWW at the URL: http://www.astro.indiana.edu/personnel/link/CC.html.
