This is a scaled claim based on when the demand for JavaScript programmers first will exceed the demand for Java programmers. If this happens on or before January 1, 2001 the claim pays off at 100. Subsequent to that date, the payoff drops one point per week. After 100 weeks the claim can be judged at zero.
Demand will be measured by techniques similar to those used by Ted Shieh's figures, later reported by Larry Wall derived from www.dice.com
In Shieh's study, demand was estimated to be the number of job listings on www.dice.com that mention any of the top programming languages.
If www.dice.com ceases to be useful for this purpose, one of the largest web sites advertising programming jobs will be used instead.
Fragmentation of naming conventions for "JavaScript" and/or "Java" will be handled at the judge's discretion.
I've recently checked these stats they have been updated on my personal web site.
