A nuclear weapon will be used(in other than a test capacity) somewhere in the world by 1/1/2010. This event will be acknowledged in major publications(i.e. The London Times, The Washington Post, The London Economist). Each Yes Coupon pays $1 within 1 months of the publication of the use of a nuclear weapon. No coupons pay $1 on Jan. 1, 2010 if no nuclear weapon has been used anywhere in the world between October 10,1995 and Jan. 1, 2010.
Standard ambiguity clause: If the wording is found to be ambiguous I will judge on the basis of the obvious intent. If the intent is ambiguous I will judge on the basis of precise wording. If both are ambiguous or if both are clear but conflict, I will look for a solution that causes the least damage to FX as a market and game.
Detonations prior to the claim creation date (1995.10.10) are excluded. Use of a nuclear weapon or device for any non-hostile purpose is excluded; these uses might include dredging harbors or removing mountains. Detonation in space appears to be a gray area; I would consider this a "YES" if it caused tangible hostile effects on earth (e.g. EMP) other than harmless transient optical phenomena.
